Abstract:	This work aimed to identify and analyze the delimited, constructed and structured space for the education and the care of the young children, of four and five years, in the primary school classrooms in the Administrative Region of Samambaia, in the Federal District. The space in the institutions that attend small children was treated as an important factor for the quality in the infantile education, because it is in that the interactions, the play, the access to the systematized knowledge and, consequently, the development and the learning take place. In this perspective, the work focused on the playfulness and the way in which the relationships between the children with their peers and with the adults are opportune are parameters to understand the importance of the physical space appropriate to this age group. There is the understanding that the way in which physical space and environments are constructed and organized demonstrates the conception about children, infancy and early childhood education. Brazil has extensive legislation that ensures the right of children to a kindergarten that contemplates their interests, needs and possibilities. However, there is a mismatch in what is proposed in relation to the practices experienced in public child institutions, especially in relation to infrastructure. The research was done through the literature review, observation in school class and data collection and interviews with teachers from six class schools. Through the analysis of the data, it was possible to identify that these school units attend most of the children in the preschool, and that these institutions do not offer adequate spaces for games and interactions. In addition, they are insufficient and do not help the development of pedagogical activities for young children. It was also identified that most of the teachers who work in the children's classes are on temporary employment contracts. Thus, it was found that the expansion of access to public early childhood education was not accompanied by the expected quality. As a result of this work, a document was prepared containing indications and suggestions for class schools to accept compulsory education with comfort and safety, as well as offering support for the construction of meaningful learning and experiences for children.
