Abstract:	The economic formation of Brazil and the composition of its people are confused with the trajectory of the policies of access to the land, often based on undefined and unstable property rights that favoured environments of uncertainty in rural areas, agrarian conflicts, invasions , expropriations and also privileges. This theme, in general, has elicited a set of governmental actions aimed at accelerating sustainable economic development, environmental preservation and social peace in the countryside. The Terra Legal Program, created in 2009 by Law No. 11,952, is one of the greatest institutional innovations of the last decade, as it sets forth a set of formal rules that regulate land issues in the Legal Amazon. In its agenda, the program aimed to regularize and allocate public lands, mainly to the rural squatters, but not only this, it also sought to induce productive inclusion and reduction of deforestation. In this sense, the objective of this study is to analyse the policy of land regularization and its relationship with other socioeconomic variables: deforestation in municipalities, deforestation in regular rural properties, livestock production, soybean production and land prices, in the municipalities of the Legal Amazon, in the period between 2009 to 2015. For this purpose, the spatial data analysis (AED) was used as a methodological tool, which seeks to describe the spatial distribution of variables, spatial association patterns, to verify the existence of different spatial regimes or other forms of spatial instability and identify atypical observations. The results obtained from the univariate analysis showed positive global spatial autocorrelation for all analysed variables, meaning that there is a spatial dependence relationship between municipalities of the Legal Amazon, in which neighbouring municipalities registered similar values. Regarding the global analysis of bivariate Moran, the results showed positive spatial autocorrelation, with a significance lower than the 5% level, in relation to the bovine production, in relation to the soybean production and in relation to the land price. Regarding the global bivariate analysis of deforestation occurring in the municipalities, the data demonstrated randomness, indicating that deforestation has occurred in municipalities regardless of land regularization actions. However, there is an exception related to deforestation that occurred in rural properties titled by the Terra Legal Program, in which the global spatial association was negative, that is, the policy of land regularization reduced deforestation in these areas. Based on these results, strategies for local and regional intervention can be defined in order to optimize the effectiveness of the Terra Legal Program.
