Abstract:	The emergence of the environment issue, economic crises and the decay of the real socialism experiences that characterized the twentieth century latest decades, created a context for the emergence of alternative social movements both in the North and South of the planet. Degrowth is one of those movements and it first emerged in France and with great relevance in Europe. It defends the abandonment of economic growth ideologies that generate inequalities and has put humanity under the threat of an environmental collapse. Authors have outlined possibilities of convergences between Degrowth and social movements in the South that has focused on the analysis of problems faced in the South caused by the economic growth model in the North. This research takes part on this debate and proposes an additional path: theoretical guiding elements of the social groups existing in the South countries, in particular Solidarity Economy in Brazil. The research´s question is: are the sufficient elements between Solidarity Economy in Brazil and Degrowth enough to build a common platform? In order to answer this question, it was used theoretical-conceptual aspects present on text samples of each movement. As a result, it was verified that the movements distinguishing elements outnumbered the common elements, which outnumbered the antagonistic ones. When it comes to the antagonisms, Solidarity Economy incorporates notions of economic growth and development, while, on the other hand, Degrowth rejects them. The discussion of those antagonisms and other differences started off from the questioning and qualification of Solidarity Economy on those themes; different historical contexts, actors and immediate demands of the movements; accumulated practical experiences and (in) consistency of data, among others. Common elements that stand out are: autonomy, democracy and equality; notions of well-being based on qualitative and relational attributes and the harmony between human beings and their relationship to nature; opposition to consumerism and the meaning of life based on quantitative and materialist terms; they differentiate basic needs from created needs and attribute positive value to the basic ones; they approximate themselves to Buen Vivir, they identify movements for environmental justice as allies; and actors from both movements integrate the same network. The general conclusion is that common elements point out to the possibility of a common platform, once the antagonisms and differences do not hinder a dialog between the movements. Finally, it is concluded that FBES is a subject of Solidarity Economy that can benefit the dialog with Degrowth.
